Where does it come from?
Print Release was first used in 1998 by Marinda Stuiver when she worked as an online marketing consultant for Station Africa Telecoms. In 2005 the use of printable press releases was brought to Dan McTaggart´s attention and it resulted into the development of a tool and the co-authoring of the eBook that will assist business owners and non-PR personell to write, publish and optimize and marketing their own online press releases
Why would I need it?
Public relations forms part of the marketing department in any business. It is normally the duty of the public relations specialists (PRO) to establish and maintain relations with the media whether it is online of offline.
The aim of press releases is to inform the media about news worthy events and the information is disseminated in a specific format and style to reach the editors´ desk. Editors are sensitive to the style and presentation of these releases as they normally do not have much time to decide which stories will go to print or not.
